What your plan will look like

One teaching group, one paper. These are the topics the ranking puts above the line, why each one is there, and every assumption behind the ordering. Change the hours and the line moves.

Sample dataThe IDs and marks are invented, but the paper map is real. Nothing here is a real college and no real cohort is shown anywhere on this site.

Edexcel 1MA1 Paper 1F, June 2025 (non-calculator). 24 students. 8 hours available, one hour a topic.

The topics above the line

This is the real ranking engine, running on invented marks. The interactive sample takes any number of hours and lets you set the session length too.

Showing 8 hours: 8 topics above the line, 391 marks in play across 24 students.

Marks in play is the number of marks this group lost on a topic, weighted by how quickly that topic can usually be recovered. Deeper topics count at half weight. It is a count of marks, never of grades, and the "why here" column names the weighting used on each row.

What this ranking assumes

  • One topic session is taken as 1 hour. Change it and the line moves.
  • Recoverability is a judgement, not a measurement. Every topic uses the default: parts that need written reasoning or overlap the Higher paper count as deeper work at half weight. To label topics quick or deep yourself, upload with the college's own topic list.
  • Boundary distance is an estimate from the 2025-06 series notional grade 4 mark for this paper, which the board publishes as a guide only: grades are awarded on the whole qualification, not one paper. Boundaries move every year and are not published until results day.
  • Every student and every topic stays on the page.

The decision record

These are the first lines of the sample record, as the export writes them. A real plan adds a line each time you confirm it or change it, with your reason.

  1. 2026-09-02: mock uploaded against Edexcel 1MA1 Paper 1F, June 2025 (non-calculator), 24 students.
  2. 2026-09-02: ranking produced. Top topics: Map scale 1:20 000; Link a fraction and two ratios; find n; Probabilities sum to 1, with a two-to-one constraint; Stem and leaf diagram; Multiply decimals. Grade 4 estimate used.
  3. 2026-09-03: plan confirmed for 8 hours: Map scale 1:20 000; Link a fraction and two ratios; find n; Probabilities sum to 1, with a two-to-one constraint; Stem and leaf diagram; Multiply decimals; Timetables: compare journey times; Interior/exterior angles of a regular polygon; Angle proof: isosceles triangle, parallel lines, reasons. 391 marks in play.

The interactive version adds what a real upload gets: the by-student view, the hours per topic session, and the option to confirm the plan or record a different one with your reason. Because it is the sample, it saves nothing.
